December Meeting Presentations

At the December 18 meeting there were two short presentations.

First was a discussion by Kathylee Johnson about the USPS Informed Delivery app. You can find out more and access it from your browser HERE or download the app for use on these platforms:

Second was a discussion by Bob Kenlay about the end of support for Windows 7. Microsoft will no longer provide updates for the operating system as of Jan. 14, 2020.

Don't worry, your old machine won't quit working after that date. It just means it will become more vulnerable to exploitation by the bad guys since Microsoft will quit patching security flaws. Be careful and keep doing backups of your programs and data.

If you would like to ask questions or add to the discussion please use the comments feature of this post, below.

Deleting Gmail Contact

Here's how to delete a contact in Gmail:
  1. Open Gmail in your browser
  2. In the upper right corner of the page (not the header) hover your mouse pointer over the grid of 9 dots and it will say "Google Apps"
  3. Click on the dots to open the menu, then scroll until you see the "Contacts" icon, if it doesn't show, you may have to scroll to the bottom of the menu and click on "more" to see all the apps
  4. Click on the "Contacts" icon and a new tab should open in your browser
  5. Find the address you want, click on it and it will open the contact details
  6. In the upper right corner of the details page click on the 3 vertical dots and select "Delete"
  7. Click "Delete" again in the little pop-up window
That's it. Good-bye contact.
